Team Building for Science
Today we engaged in some hands-on team building activities with Mrs. S, an americorps member that works in our school to support STEAM work with students. Today was a day to see how well students already work together and lay the foundation for the numerous other team oriented activities we will complete with Mrs. S this year in the classroom.
First, we worked in two separate groups to lower a hula hoop to the ground, using just one finger on the hoop. It sounds easy, but it was a real challenge! Students had to work together to lower at the correct rate. Then, students worked to build structures with toothpicks and gumdrops.
