Heart Maps

Today students learned about making Heart Maps during writing workshop. Heart maps are a tool for students to use when they are having trouble coming up with a topic to write about. Right now, we are working on writing true stories about our lives called Narratives. Students can look at the heart map they made with people, places and things that are important to them, and think about the memories they have with them in order to think of story topics.

These are glued right onto the front of students' writing folders for easy access.
