Fire Safety

WPS has been lucky enough over the past week to have some Fire Safety lessons from the Windham Fire Department. Today we were able to learn from 3 Windham firefighters about how to stay safe in the event of a fire at our home. Here are some of their suggestions/reminders:

• Change smoke detector batteris 2x per year
• Have a fire escape plan with your family - know how to get out quickly and safely
• Have a meeting place outside that everyone will go to
• Yell, "Fire!" if you see one inside, so that your whole family knows
• Crawl out of the house to avoid smoke
• Call 9-1-1 -- know your address and phone number!
• Stay away from your home until help arrives
