Collection Writing

Students are currently in the midst of opinion writing practice. They have learned that writers write about things that are important to them. To support that message, students brought in collections from home that are special to them. In class we've been teaching students ways to look at their collection items and rank/compare them. Students have spent the past week doing just that using opinion language. 

I think...because...one reason is...another reason is...

The pictures belong will hang beside their 'Best in Show' piece of writing so that other students in the school can form their own opinions about each child's collection and which would be their favorite.
