Apple Study

We have spent the last two weeks learning and reading about apples! Here are some peeks at what we did:

After reading multiple different nonfiction stories about Apples, students helped to place the labels on this Parts of an Apple poster. Once all the parts we placed we discussed each one. The trickiest "part" to identify for students was the flesh.

Following this whole group activity, students drew and labeled their own apple diagrams.

The pictures to the right show students with their Apple Life Cycle wheels. We began this lesson as a whole group, where we arranged pictures of the apple life cycle into the appropriate order. Once we finished the group activity, students were able to make their own modified life cycle wheels. When completed, students worked in partners and larger groups to "teach" about the life cycle using their wheel as support!
